A socket holds the lighbulb in a lamp or lighting fixture and is fitted with terminals to connect to the electrical source. The attach on socket has special insulation displacement terminals (teeth) to easily attach the socket with NO wire stripping. The 1/4 turn twist top locks the wiring connection into place.
